Hybridism

Hybridism is a contemporary art movement and evolving concept in which artists work with emerging technologies that embrace experimentation, collaboration, and the blending of different influences to create innovative and meaningful expressions. ​Hybridism in art refers to the fusion of diverse styles, techniques, or media to create works that transcend traditional boundaries. It emphasizes experimentation and the breaking down of rigid categories where artistic influences intermingle freely.

As a seasoned Art Director with over two decades of experience in the advertising industry, Ky Maro created projects for Fortune 500 companies as well as fine art for a diverse array of corporate and private clients. In his current visual art series, "A Journey to the Ethereal Dominion", he tips his hat to Manet, the founding father of Modernism who created a bridge between Realism and Impressionism. As a contemporary New Media artist, Maro's original hybrid creations blend representation with abstraction in varying weights inviting viewers to enter through a narrative doorway leading to an additional sensory experience.

 

Maro utilizes cutting-edge tools, techniques and innovative processes that break down rigid categories. Similar to film Directors giving acting directions to actors, Maro gives art directions to a New Media Ai art tool for initial rough references. He then often combines multiple initial rough references together into an original composition ready for final rendering by hand with a digital paint brush. Simply put, Maro creates digital paintings by using Photoshop to manipulate, distort, and paint over images that Ai presents as possible paths to Maro's priority.... the vision.
